It was a cold and silent morning in New York.
Inside a luxury funeral hall, one of the richest businessmen in the city was being buried.
His name was William Anderson.
He was known as a powerful man.
A billionaire.
A respected father.
A successful businessman.
To the world, William Anderson was a legend.
But inside the funeral hall, not everyone was crying.
His family stood near the black coffin, dressed in expensive black suits and designer dresses. Cameras flashed outside. Reporters were waiting near the gate. Business partners whispered about his empire, his companies, and the fortune he left behind.
His eldest son, Michael Anderson, stood at the front.
He looked calm.
Too calm.
Beside him stood his younger sister, Sophia, wiping her tears with a silk handkerchief.
The priest was about to begin the final prayer when suddenly…
The main door of the funeral hall opened.
Everyone turned around.
An old woman walked inside.
She was poor.
Her clothes were simple and old. Her gray hair was covered with a worn-out scarf. In her trembling hand, she held a small brown envelope.
The security guard stepped forward.
“Ma’am, this is a private funeral,” he said.
But the old woman did not stop.
She slowly walked toward the coffin.
The guests began whispering.
“Who is she?”
“How did she get inside?”
“Is she from the press?”
Michael looked at her with anger.
“Stop right there,” he said.
The old woman stopped near the coffin and looked at William’s photo.
For a moment, her eyes filled with pain.
Then she whispered,
“You finally left this world with the truth still buried.”
The entire hall went silent.
Michael stepped closer.
“Who are you?”
The old woman looked at him.
“My name is Margaret.”
Michael’s face remained cold.
“I don’t know you.”
Margaret looked at the coffin and said,
“No. But your father did.”
A wave of shock moved through the room.
Sophia stepped forward.
“What do you want?”
Margaret raised the brown envelope.
“I came to give this to his children.”
Michael’s expression changed.
“This is not the time for drama.”
Margaret’s voice became stronger.
“Your father was not the man you think he was.”
Everyone froze.
The priest lowered his prayer book.
Michael’s jaw tightened.
“My father was a respected man. You have no right to speak about him like this.”
Margaret looked directly into his eyes.
“Then read the letter he wrote before he died.”
Michael stared at the envelope.
For a moment, he did not move.
Then Sophia whispered,
“Michael… take it.”
Michael snatched the envelope from the old woman’s hand.
The hall became completely silent.
He opened the envelope.
Inside was an old letter.
The paper was yellow and weak, but the handwriting was clear.
At the top, it said:
“To my children, when I am gone.”
Michael’s hands tightened.
He began reading.
At first, his face showed anger.
Then confusion.
Then fear.
Sophia noticed his expression.
“What does it say?” she asked.
Michael did not answer.
Margaret spoke softly.
“Read it out loud.”
Michael looked at her with rage.
“No.”
Sophia quickly took the letter from his hands.
She began reading.
Her voice trembled.
“If you are reading this, then I no longer have the courage to hide the truth. Years ago, before your mother, I loved a woman named Elena. She gave birth to my first child.”
The guests gasped.
Sophia stopped reading.
Michael’s face turned pale.
“Our father had another child?” Sophia whispered.
Margaret nodded.
“Yes.”
Michael stepped back.
“This is a lie.”
Margaret looked at him.
“No, Michael. The lie is what your family has been living for thirty years.”
Sophia continued reading the letter.
“I was forced to leave Elena. My family said she was poor and not worthy of the Anderson name. I was told my child died. But years later, I discovered the truth.”
Sophia’s hands started shaking.
She looked up.
“What truth?”
Margaret answered,
“The child never died.”
A loud whisper spread through the hall.
Michael shouted,
“Enough!”
But Margaret did not stop.
“Your father found out only two weeks before his death.”
Sophia looked at Margaret with tears in her eyes.
“Where is that child now?”
Margaret looked toward the main doors.
“Standing outside.”
Everyone turned around.
The doors were still open.
Outside, standing in the cold, was a young woman.
She looked around twenty-eight years old.
She wore a simple black dress. Her eyes were full of pain, but she stood with dignity.
Sophia’s lips trembled.
“Who is she?”
Margaret said,
“Her name is Anna.”
Michael looked furious.
“This is a setup. She wants money.”
Anna slowly walked inside.
She did not look at the guests.
She looked only at the coffin.
When she reached it, she placed a small white flower on top.
Then she whispered,
“I didn’t come for money. I came because my mother waited her whole life for him.”
Sophia began crying.
Michael looked at Anna with hatred.
“You expect us to believe you are our sister?”
Anna opened her small purse and took out an old photograph.
She handed it to Sophia.
In the photo, a young William stood beside a beautiful woman.
The woman was holding a newborn baby.
Behind the photo, something was written:
“Elena and our daughter, Anna.”
Sophia covered her mouth.
Michael looked at the photo, then quickly looked away.
Margaret then pulled out another paper.
“A DNA report was done before your father died.”
Michael’s eyes widened.
“You had no right.”
Margaret stared at him.
“Your father asked for it.”
Sophia took the report.
Her tears fell on the paper.
“It says… match confirmed.”
The room exploded with whispers.
Reporters outside began pushing toward the entrance.
Michael suddenly grabbed the report.
“This proves nothing!” he shouted.
Anna looked at him calmly.
“I know you are afraid.”
Michael froze.
Anna continued,
“Because if I am his daughter, then you lose control of everything.”
Michael’s face changed.
Margaret stepped forward.
“There is more.”
Sophia looked at her.
“More?”
Margaret pointed to the coffin.
“Your father did not die peacefully.”
The entire hall went silent again.
Michael’s eyes sharpened.
“What are you saying?”
Margaret lowered her voice.
“I am saying he was going to announce Anna publicly today.”
Sophia looked shocked.
“At the funeral?”
Margaret shook her head.
“No. At the company board meeting yesterday.”
Michael’s breathing became heavy.
Margaret continued,
“He was going to change his will.”
The guests looked at Michael.
Michael shouted,
“She is lying!”
Anna looked at the coffin and said,
“My father called me one night before he died.”
Sophia looked at her.
“What did he say?”
Anna slowly took out a small voice recorder from her purse.
Michael’s face turned white.
Anna pressed play.
William Anderson’s weak voice filled the hall.
“Anna… I am sorry. I should have found you sooner. Tomorrow, I will tell everyone the truth. But if something happens to me… do not trust Michael.”
The hall froze.
Sophia turned slowly toward her brother.
“Michael…”
Michael looked around.
His perfect image was breaking in front of everyone.
Suddenly, the funeral hall lights flickered.
The voice recorder continued playing.
William’s final words echoed through the room:
“The person who wants my empire is closer than you think.”
Michael stepped back.
Anna looked at him and whispered,
“What did you do to him?”
Before Michael could answer, a police officer entered the funeral hall.
Everyone turned.
The officer walked straight toward Sophia.
“Miss Anderson, we need to speak with your brother.”
Michael’s face filled with panic.
Sophia stepped away from him.
The officer looked at Michael and said,
“We found something in your father’s medical report.”
Michael swallowed hard.
Then suddenly, his phone rang.
The entire room became silent.
Michael looked at the screen.
His hands began to shake.
The caller name said:
Father
Everyone stared at the phone.
William Anderson was dead.
But his phone was calling from inside the coffin.
Sophia screamed.
The police officer opened the coffin lid slowly.
Inside, under William’s folded hands, was a small black phone.
On the screen was a video message.
Anna pressed play.
William appeared on the screen, weak but alive in the recording.
He looked directly into the camera and said:
“If this video is playing at my funeral… it means my killer is standing in this room.”
The hall went completely silent.
Then the video froze.
And on the screen appeared one final line:
“Look inside Michael’s pocket.”
Michael turned and ran toward the exit.
But the doors slammed shut.
And the police moved forward.
